Elan's First Boat/Tube Ride

Elan had a "first" last week thanks to our good friends Keith and Lanette! Last Sunday we all went to the lake and had a great time! Elan rode on the inner tube...

with Jay (yes, he's crouched down there in front of him in the picture)and just thought is was wonderful, at least for two minutes or so. Then- he was ready to get off! I think Elan had more fun sitting in the tube with Ryan than actually riding on it! I'm sure next time Elan will have overcome his fears. He loved getting in the water to swim but didn't understand at first because he couldn't touch. We took his fishing pole and the boys had fun throwing the line in- almost caught a turtle, but that was about it.

We left Emery with my parents since we weren't sure how she would do and since it was Elan's first time on a boat we wanted to make sure he had our full attention. I have to post a picture of Keith & Lanette's little girl-

she slept like this for almost TWO hours on the boat- I was amazed!!

Elan just had a blast and now says we're going to get daddy a boat for his birthday...

Emery is SIX MONTHS old!!

Well, as hard as it is to believe- Emery is officially 6 months old. It has really flown by, just as it did with Elan, but it seems even more so this time. I guess when you have more than one to keep up with you tend to lose track of time a little easier. Anyway, I wanted to include the picture of both of them because it gives you an idea of how much they love each other.

Elan just thinks she is super and will get right in her face and say- "you little precious angel- you just so pretty aren't you- my love you" and she follows his every move and can make her cackle like onone else. We feel truly blessed that they love each other so much- at least for now! :) We'll enjoy it while we can!!

Trip to Michigan

We returned from a nice trip to Michigan a couple of weeks ago. Uncle Seth got married, which was the main reason for our visit, but we also enjoyed a fun day at the lake and nice 4th of July with Jay's family. Emery just loved the sparklers that Jay bought- see picture, and Elan had a blast playing with his older cousins Corey & Carter, we just wish they lived closer so that we could see them more often! This was a trip for many "1st's" for Elan & Emery- Emery's first road trip, first 4th of July, first wedding, first time to spend the night away from home; for Elan it was his first time fishing and first time to ride a wave runner- hopefully I'll have pictures to post of that soon! Jay has a really big family so it was nice to get to see most of them during the wedding festivities.
