This past weekend we went down to Birmingham to visit our friends Payton & Kristy and their very sweet little boy Will. Payton is graduating from Optometry school in a couple of weeks and they are moving back to Florida so if you need a good eye doctor in Panama City we'll be happy to give you the number at Payton's practice!! Congratulations Payton- what an amazing accomplishment!! We had such a wonderful time and Kristy is such a gracious host- we were there for 24 hrs and had homemade banana pudding, wonderful breakfast casserole (before leaving for church!!) AND Rice Krispy treats! Kristy is a WONDERFUL cook and has started a recipe blog- http://www.kristyskitchenkreations.blogspot.com/ The banana pudding and breakfast casserole recipes are on there and I highly recommend both!! Saturday night we all went to the Birmingham Barrons baseball game and had a great time! They have a really nice kids area with all of the bouncy houses, etc and the kids and daddies :) really enjoyed it! Thank you Payton & Kristy for a wonderful and relaxing visit- you We love you guys and can't wait to see you again!

Blue Lights & Big Cash...
Ok- I'm not too good at remembering to share Elan stories, but I just have to share these while they're fresh on my mind-
#1- On Sunday Elan & Emery ran to Home Depot with me to pick up a couple of things to finish our garden. On the way home I was making a right hand turn ON A GREEN and continued marrily on my way home. About a half mile down the road I see none other than blue lights in the rear-view mirror. I thought- surely they aren't trying to pull over me and my two, by this time, crying kids with a bunch of vegetable plants in the car... so- I pull over in the gas station and kindly hand over my license, etc. -at that point you would have thought there was a drug-bust going on in Franklin because ANOTHER police car pull in behind me with their bright blue lights on too! I'm starting to think that someone has planted something in my car!! the sweet lady cop tells me she's pulled me over because I have a rear break light out and I failed to come to a complete stop before turning right- I didn't realize that you had to come to a complete stop before turning right with a green light... did you?? So anyway- to finish up a really long story- we start to drive off and my little Elan said, "Mommy, I'm really sad" I said I know Elan me too- I'm sorry we were delayed getting home, etc. He said, "no mommy- I'm really sad because you're going to be in the newspaper tomorrow"... does he watch the news too much or what??? :?
#2 (much shorter) tonight we were watching, yet again the news... and there was a Title Max commercial on and Elan said "Mommy, can I call Title Max and get lots of money too"?
Don't they say the funniest things?? I really do wish I would have kept a journal- I guess it's not too late to start!
