Happy 3-0 to Jay!!

Well, my husband has been having a hard time the past couple of months with the thought of turning 30...I tried to tell him it wasn't that big of a deal! So to ease the pain of turning 30 I planned a surprise trip to Vegas for him. Much to my surprise, he really had no idea where we were going until we got to the airport. We had such an incredible time and the weather was perfect! Big thanks to Gran & Grandad for keeping the kiddos while we were away! I didn't want to plan too much since neither of us had ever been, but I did buy tickets for us to see Elton John- and as strange as some of his videos/concert decor are he is sooo talented and such a wonderful performer!! It was such a nice, relaxing (we even got to hang out at the pool one afternoon!) and much needed trip and we're already looking for another excuse to plan another get away. If you haven't taken a trip with your hubby lately- just the two of you- I highly recommend it!! I often forget that I'm still a wife and not just a mommy. Anyway- Happy Birthday to my wonderful, fun-loving, lighthearted, compassionate, caring, real, etc, etc and now THIRTY year old hubby! I love you so, so much!
Sorry for all of the slideshows- I can't figure out how to get individual pictures to post normally anymore with our new camera!!

Easter Fun

We've had a fun couple of weeks with Elan's Easter party at school, an Easter Egg Hunt at church and of course- hunting eggs on Easter Sunday. Elan was all about hiding eggs this year and had more fun hiding them for us to find than he did hunting them himself. Emery was kind of into hunting eggs and she actually picked them up and put them right in her bag- smart little girl! She LOVES the chocolate/peanut butter eggs (she is her mothers daughter :)) and would put the entire egg in her mouth and just drull chocolate- yumm!! After three of them on Sunday we cut her off and she was NOT happy- see picture. Easter Sunday was cold and windy, so we just stayed outside long enough to hide a few eggs and snap some pictures. We hope you all had a wonderful Easter holiday!

From Spring to Snow...

The weekend before last we enjoyed a BEAUTIFUL Sunday afternoon at my parents house! The weather was perfect! We all enjoyed riding the four-wheeler, shooting cans (it really is fun, :)) and just spending time outside. Less than a week later we had almost 3 inches of snow... yes- that's a lot for us!! Elan had so much fun playing outside in it and Emery couldn't quite decide whether she was enjoying it or not! Elan enjoyed making snow angels while Asia made doggie snow angels- I can't say that I've ever seen a dog enjoy the snow as much as Asia did, see picture!! One of the things I love about Tennessee is the unpredictable weather!
