Beautiful Evening....

We had a wonderful time tonight at the 10th Anniversary/Vow Renewal of our great friends Jenny & Peyton. I don't think either of us have shed so many tears in a long time!

They are probably the most real people that we know and have been such a beautiful example to us of love, committment and endurance. The past 10 years have not been easy for them- in fact they have probably been through more than any of us will ever face in marriage, but they are still MARRIED and are committed to the vows that they made 10 years ago. Jenny is such a strong Christian woman and committed to her husband now for the same reason she fell in love with him 10+ years ago and Peyton is just simply a nice, lovable man who is now one of the most God-fearing men that we know. He is very public in the trials that he has faced and now to the unconditional love that he has for Jenny- it's just really a love that you don't see everyday. This post isn't about our children, but special thanks to Faith Carole and Ansley

for watching our kiddos so we could be a part of the evening with Jenny & Peyton- we wouldn't have missed it for the world and it was so nice to know that Elan & Emery were in good hands!

Marriage is not easy- as Jay mentioned tonight in the toasts- it's not about luck, as you hear so often when you get married- "good luck", but comittment to God and hard work including putting the others needs above your own and being selfless- which doesn't always come easy. Thank you Jenny & Peyton a beautiful evening and especially for the example of unconditional love that you are to us- we love you guys!

First Entrepreneur In Family

My sister and three collegues have officially opened their therapy private practice in Spring Hill. We had a really nice time at the open house today... Emery especially enjoyed hanging out with Grandad in Aunt Alli's office! We are sooo proud of you- what an accomplishment!!

Fun at the Fair

We had a wonderful time at the Williamson Co Fair Monday night with our great friends Robert & Dana and their boys- we had to wait until 7pm to go and it was still 95 degrees!! Despite the heat, Elan had so much fun- and thought it was really cool to hold a REAL chicken.
After some hard work on the "farm"- milking cows, gathering eggs, etc.- the boys enjoyed cooling off with their chocolate milk- ummm, just what I want when I'm all hot and sweaty! :)

After some convincing, Elan had a blast going on his first ride with his buddy Aden.

We ALL had a great time, even Austin & Emery! If you've never gone down the alpine slide ride, I highly recommend it!

Staying Cool with Cousin Caleb

We had a great time at the pool with Allison, Jon-Micah and Caleb yesterday. It had been over a month, YES just over a month since we had seen them so it was really nice to hang out and catch up. Elan loves his "tousin Taleb" and Caleb loves him too, but is really partial to "Emy"- Caleb is just fearless in the water and would try to copy everything Elan was doing- which he's become a pro at a cannonball! Caleb is just a little sweetie and I can't believe he's going to be 2 in November! He and Elan have so much fun playing together and it will so neat to watch them grow up together.
